Coffee House seeking high energy individuals for full-time Barista openings! JOB SUMMARY: The Barista is responsible for assisting the General Store Manager, Associate Store Manager, Shift Leaders, and Barista Trainers in the efficient and profitable operation of the store. He/she is responsible for making quality, hot and cold beverages, maintaining high store standards, a positive work environment, which provides consistent, fast, efficient, and friendly service. Along with management and teammates, the Barista creates the tone and personality of the store by focusing on customer service, product knowledge and education, encouraging safe and cleanliness work practices, and demonstrates principles and integrity. STORE OPERATIONS: Assists General Store Manager, Associate Store Manager, Shift Leaders, and Barista Trainers as follows: Ensures profitability of the store by preparing beverages and some food items as outlined in the Beverage/Food Guide, controlling ingredient costs, supplies, and expenses. Maintains a clean, work environment. Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards, and maintains a safe work environment. Promotes and practices appropriate food handling procedures, including proper hand washing and other practices as indicated in the required Food Handling Safety course. SERVICE: Maintains an upbeat positive demeanor at all times to both customers and teammates alike. Demonstrates high integrity at all times, a strong customer focus, high ethical standards, and efficient, genuine and friendly service. Consistently maintains high cleanliness standards throughout the Barista area. PRODUCT: Makes the highest quality beverage and food items exactly as outlined in the Beverage/Food Guide standards. Training & Development: Must be knowledgeable in the operations of the full Barista area, including drive-thru, POS stations, equipment usage, maintenance of equipment, etc. Must be able to quickly take customer orders, assist customers with service tasks, and process payments at the point-of-sale (POS) station. Must be flexible and open to change, including learning new beverage recipes. Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and teammates. Must be willing to champion Frank & Joe s Coffee House in-house, in the community, and with family and friends. Must be willing to listen and show a genuine, personal interest in each and every customer, including learning the names of regular patrons along with their drink and food preferences. Assists in building morale and team spirit by fostering a work environment where input is encouraged. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an outgoing, upbeat, positive demeanor and exceptional customer service skills. Must have sales experience with the ability to upsell and confidently suggest additional products to customers. Fast learner and must be able to quickly understand the operations of all espresso machines and other equipment, including the ability to clean and maintain equipment. Must have or be able to obtain both a valid Food Handler s License and TABC Certification. Must have flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and special events as needed. Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate effective problem solving skills. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and use hands and arms seamlessly. Must be able to use hands to grip equipment, containers, cups, packages, etc. Must be able to easily reach, stretch, squat, bend, and twist from the waist. Must be able to handle food, hot and cold beverages, and work with sharp objects. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
